Chudney Ross is a gifted writer, nurturing teacher, energetic TV host, and a progressive-minded entrepreneur. But what Chudney truly hopes will one day come to define her is her advocacy of children and charitable causes.

Having grown up in front of cameras, Chudney, Diana Ross’ youngest daughter caught the entertainment bug. Her innate comic timing and infectious personality made her a natural for a slew of hosting appearances on different television and internet outlets including Inside Edition and Younghollywood.com. As a member of the Screen Actors guild, Chudney has also appeared in multiple ad campaigns for products such as Keds and State Farm Insurance. She dabbled with a modeling career, which brought her to the catwalks of New York and LA Fashion weeks and onto the pages of multiple magazines.

Although undeniably drawn to the “industry” like her superstar mom and talented siblings, it seems Chudney has a different calling. She has a gift with children and has gained countless hours of experience working throughout the years as a preschool and elementary school teacher, children’s ski instructor and a music and creative movement leader.

After graduating from Georgetown University with a double major in English and Fine Arts, Chudney became a teacher in inner city Washington, DC with Americorp’s Teach For America. She continued to teach in the LA public school system for years after.

It was while teaching that Chudney found her talent for writing. She recently completed an edgy and thought-provoking new children’s book series, Bean’s Books, which will be published by Harper Collins in the summer of 2012.

Chudney’s years of varied experience combined with her affinity for the betterment of children has culminated into her largest endeavor yet, the opening of her first business, Books and Cookies: a children’s bookstore, bakery and enrichment center scheduled to open this year in Santa Monica, California. Books and Cookies will offer an enchanting blend of literature, learning activities and sweet treats with the goal of bringing the wonder and excitement back to reading and learning.

Chudney is a humble advocate for all children’s causes and lends much of her time mentoring underprivileged children in art, reading and writing. Her most recent charitable endeavor has been writing letters to the President with homeless children all over the United States with the non-profit organization, Children Mending Hearts.
